The Cambridge Sustainable City Allotments Competition 2000 was judged during Cambridge Environment Week in June as part of a major promotion campaign for the City's allotments.

Prizes totaled over £600 in cash, and 300 packets of Unwins vegetable seed including some of their new organic range.

The judges included Mark Williams, Trials Manager from Unwins Seeds, Chris Gerrard, Senior Conservation Officer of the Wildlife Trust for Cambridgeshire, and Gay Search of BBC TV's Gardeners' World fame. The organisers would like to thank all the judges for giving up their time, to Unwins Seeds of Histon for their support, Cambridge City Council Housing Dept for the ceremony, and Cambridge Sustainable City for funding the competition.
